Limestone Skills Competition 2022

PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST:  Students will demonstrate the collision repair and welding skills involved in the automotive collision repair industry. Each competitor’s comprehension of auto COLLISION repair terms, procedures and their ability to perform these tasks in a safe and professional manner will be evaluated.

Duration of contest

6 hours at N.D.S.S. 8:30 - 2:30 pm

Competitors will be judged on their general knowledge of the automotive collision repair process with particular attention paid to:

Skills and Knowledge to be tested;

  • Repair tear in fender, weld in section
  • Repair plastic bumper section
  • Measure unibody system
  • Written exam

Equipment materials and clothing

All personal auto collision repair technician tools including:

  • drill bits
  • vice grips
  • tape measure
  • straight edge ruler
  • tri-square
  • welding helmet
  • gloves
  • aprons
  • hacksaw and blades
  • spot weld cutter
  • felt marker or pencil
  • body hammer
  • block sander
  • spreaders
  • mixing board
  • center punch
  • cold chisel
  • die grinder
  • air saw
  • DA sander
  • all safety equipment listed below

Equipment and material provided by Limestone District School Board

  • work table
  • Protective equipment other than individual protective gear (PPE)
  • welders
  • Air supplied respirators
  • Disposable gloves (Nitrile)
  • Dual action sanders and supplies
  • Blow gun
  • Hazardous spill kit
  • Fresh air Respiratory protection
